I've watched COUNTLESS hours of content on YouTube. It's easily the platform I spend the most time on and when I first started brewing I was inspired by people like Chip, Dono, Michael Dawson, Dan ABA, and others.
But over the years, my expectations for YouTube content has changed. People make full-on TV shows for YouTube now! And after binging a little Berm Peak or Just a Dash it's a tough transition back to some dude brewing in his basement while talking to a camera.
Like most home brewers, I started out brewing 5 gallon batches on a propane system. Then I caught the bug. I was brewing almost every weekend. IT'S TOO MUCH BEER!
Flash forward to today, I experiment with all electric, small batches and typically serve 'em up on draft. I like the hoppy stuff. Something like a hoppy lager or a hazy IPA makes me feel right at home. But I also like the gnarly stuff. If I see a Berliner, Saison, Wild ale, or even a quick sour on tap, I automatically order it.
When my girlfriend Meg agreed to help film the first episode of Hops & Gnarly Brewing I knew we could make something cool. And she's stuck with it ever since. We're creatives (weirdos) to the core and spend as much time as we can pursuing our crafts.
